I saw Atonement a week ago at the end of a busy, hectic, overwhelming day at work. I am reading the book currently and I think it is one of the best film adaptations of a book I've ever seen. It was exactly as I pictured it, down to the tiniest details. The story is sad but the whole thing was beautiful to watch. Here's a article about the production design.

I am reading this book too - my land lady saw the book out on our coffee table and said she had read it and saw the movie and she too said it was a wonderful adaptation of the book. Sounds like one I will have to see!
It's up for a lot of acadamy awards too...
