domino book

Add this to my wishlist, I'm excited for this book to come out this fall. When I worked in merchandising at PB everyone referred back to this magazine, and it's still one of my favorites. Here's a description:

Domino:The Book of Decorating cracks the code to creating a beautiful home, bringing together inspiring rooms, how-to advice and insiders' secrets from today's premier tastemakers in an indispensable style manual. The editors take readers room by room, tapping the best ideas from domino magazine and culling insights from their own experiences. With an eye to making design accessible and exciting, this book demystifies the decorating process and provides the tools for making spaces that are personal, functional and fabulous.

While I was looking at it, I also noticed this, and this, which I would also love to get my hands on sometime.

dream kitchen

My favorite kitchens I've gathered over the last 3 months. As much as I love pictures I see of all-white kitchens, my dream kitchen would have lots of bold colors, blues, orange and lime green mixed in with black and white. I love the idea of a little breakfast nook, somewhere to gather in the morning over the paper.

a very hungry little caterpillar

Right now i've got this tiny little guy on my desk. He's probably only 1 cm long and eats milkweed all day. My co-worker's uncle collects them and puts them in jars and brings them to kids to teach them about butterflies, and he was nice enough to drop a few off at our office, along with extra milkweed for them to eat. When my caterpillar gets nice and big, he'll climb to the top of the jar and form a chrysalis. I'm probably just as excited about this whole thing as a 10-year old kid. Oh, and I also think it's funny that mine is in an old Manischewitz jar!

bird mobile

I can't wait to make this bird mobile from spool sewing, you can download the free pattern at their website. I don't really need a mobile, but I think it would look pretty above my bedside table. Now I just need to find some fabrics to use for it, I'm thinking of this, this, and this. Does anyone know of other good sites for fabric?

house of lavande

I'm not into elaborate jewelry in general, but I think Lavande's stuff is just beautiful, and if I was a super big movie star or something, I would pick out stuff like this to wear to my big premiere.

Wimbledon

It was so awesome to watch the Nadal vs. Federer match with Jim's dad on Sunday, it lasted over 4 1/2 hours and was so intense. Looking at the pictures you can almost tell who won. Nadal really played his guts out to beat Federer. I think the most memorable moment was when Nadal returned the ball while completly backwards...like he had eyes in the back of his head!
