man vs. wild
So one of our favorite shows is Man vs. Wild on the discovery channel w/ Bear Grylls, and I have to say, I just like this channel in general. But Man vs. Wild is the craziest show they've got on right now, and we spend hours talking about the different things that happen on each episode.

Here's a description:
In each episode of Man vs. Wild Bear strands himself in popular wilderness destinations where tourists often find themselves lost or in danger. As he finds his way back to civilization, he demonstrates local survival techniques, including escaping quicksand in the Moab Desert, navigating dangerous jungle rivers in Costa Rica, crossing ravines in the Alps and surviving sharks off Hawaii.
It's crazy the kind of things he's done on this show, i'll list a few:
On the Alps episode he ate maggots off of a rotting goat carcass he found in an avalanche.

On the African Savannah episode, not only does he drink the water squeezed from elephant dung, but he also knaws the remaining meat off the carcass of a zebra.
On the Mount Kilauea episode in Hawaii he has to get across a lava field and his shoes keep catching on fire.

On the Rockies episode he free-climbs down a cliff, spears a rabbit, and tries to tame a wild horse.
Here are a few extra photos from episodes I haven't seen yet:

Anways, you get the gist of it, but we can't stop watching this show, just to see what predicament he'll get into next, and what insane things he'll have to do to survive. Oh, and Bear has a blog, check it out!

vinyl heaven
So, I just found these fun creative ideas around vinyl on my favorite blog and I thought I would share. My favorite is the coat hanger. I'll have to see if my creative cousin Brittney with her vinyl printer could make me something like this for our house.

when you take modest a step too far....
So I was having a conversation with my good friend Katie the other night, and we were talking about what we wear running, and how modest it is. See we both ran track and cross country (I did it because it doesn’t require too much coordination) in high school, and when you're running in the heat of Phoenix or the humidity of Minnesota, the most you’re going to do is short shorts and a tank top. And that’s what I still wear, even though it’s cold and foggy out here and my legs turn all red and splotchy. Anyways while we were on the topic of modesty, I remembered a really really funny link that I got in one of my daily candy emails. Daily Candy tells you all about new fun places to eat, boutiques to shop at, trends, etc…so when I saw “A Modest Proposal” an email about modest swimwear, I thought, cool, maybe they have some cute retro suits. But this is what I saw when I followed the link:

I pictured myself laying out in my parent’s backyard in phoenix, in 110 degree weather and totally BAKING in one of these! More power to the modest people in the world who are willing to wear stuff like this, but if I saw someone wearing this, I'm not going to lie, I'd be a little freaked out.

everyday
Have you ever thought about taking a picture of yourself everyday and watching how things change over time? Well did it for 6 years, check it out! I think it's pretty crazy to watch 6 years of clothes, haircuts and apartments go by but this guy stays essentially the same. But how does he keep the same expression the whole time? The music is really good too...it's by Carly Comando
